In this day of GPS high-accuracy satellite positioning, people take for granted the same accuracy in subsea positioning as we have come to expect from terrestrial survey.  But the interface between the sky and the ocean destroys the ability to position in the electromagnetic spectrum leaving the clear need for positioning via underwater acoustics.  Join Jami and his staff for an interesting and engaging look at the fundamentals of underwater acoustic positioning.
